Registration Requirements for a Poultry Business in the Philippines

There are several permits and registration requirements that you have to meet when setting up a poultry business in the Philippines. These include:-

  • Poultry Business Name Registration: You have to give your poultry farming business a unique name or brand by which it will be known in the Philippines. The name registration is carried out at the nearest provincial office of the Department of Trade and Industry in the locality where your business will be located. The registration will be valid for 5 years.
  • The Barangay Clearance: You can get this at the nearest Bangaray office that has the jurisdiction over your locality.
  • The Mayor’s Permit and License/Sanitary Permit: Get this from the local government office that has jurisdiction over the location where the poultry farm will be situated. This permit is valid for one year.
  • The Tax Identification Number (TIN): If you will be running a poultry farming enterprise, of course you have to pay taxes to the government. It is therefore imperative that you get the tax Identification Number for your business. The TIN can be obtain from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) national offices that are situated in Diliman, Quezon City. You can also get a TIN from the nearest BIR office at your current location.
  • Environmental Compliance Certificate: Environmental compliance is an important consideration when setting up a poultry farm in the Philippines. This is especially important if you are setting up a large scale operation. You can obtain an Environmental Compliance Certificate from the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources that is situated in Visayas Avenue, Diliman in Quezon City.

  1. Hi! We are interested to have a poultry farm developed in our property located in Bingawan, Iloilo. The property has an approximate land area of 10.7 hectares. It is now primarily a rice field with some fruit-bearing trees. It also has water reservoir for irrigation and fish farming.
