BROILER MEAT PRICES IN THE PHILIPPINES
Farmgate Pricing: Between January and June 2017, the average farm-gate prices for broilers in the Philippines was ₱84.60 per kg for liveweight. This was a 1.99% decline from the 2016 farm-gate prices of ₱86.32 per kg for liveweight. The month of May 2017 recorded the highest farm-gate prices for broilers at ₱90.07 per kg for liveweight while the month of February recorded the lowest prices at ₱80.67 per kg, liveweight.
Wholesale Pricing: The average wholesale pricing for broilers in the Philippines between January and June 2017 was ₱95.59 per kg in Metro Manila. This represented a 1.70% drop in prices over the previous year when the average wholesale broiler pricing hit ₱97.25 per kilogram.
The month of February 2017 recorded the highest average wholesale prices for broilers at ₱103.23 while the month of January recorded the lowest broiler wholesale prices in the Philippines at ₱84.58 per kilogram.
Retail Pricing: The monthly cost of dressed broiler chickens in Metro Manila dropped 3.47% compared to the average pricing recorded in the previous year. April saw the best prices at ₱146.40 per kilogram. The lowest retail pricing for dressed chicken was recorded in January with an average of ₱136.40.
CHICKEN EGG PRICES IN THE PHILIPPINES
Farmgate Pricing: For the first half of 2017, the average chicken egg pricing was ₱4.73 per egg. This was 7.47% higher than the process recorded in the previous year. Generally, there was a gradual decrease in the farmgate prices for eggs in the Philippines between the months of January and June in 2017.
Wholesale Pricing: The wholesale pricing for chicken egg in the Philippines averaged at ₱4.27 per piece. This was a 1.91% increase in prices over the same duration in the previous year. In Metro Manila, chicken eggs were most expensive in May at ₱4.97 per piece and cheapest in February at ₱3.48 per piece.
Retail Pricing: In the first half of 2017, the prices of eggs averaged at ₱5.45 per piece of egg, a 6.96% increase in prices over the previous year. Lowest retail egg prices were seen in May at ₱5.27.
